Entering customer records saves you time if you have returning or regular customers, it helps you manage cash flow through credit control and means that you have your customer information at your finger tips.
This window shows all of your customer accounts and associated balances. You can use the options in this window to create and manage your customer records. You can customise the window so that the information that is most important to you is immediately visible using configurable columns and you can filter the records that appear in this list by using a search.
To access the Customers window, Modules > Customers.
New Customer |
Create a customer account record using the Customer Record wizard to guide you through the process. |
Customer Record |
Opens any customer records you select in the list. If no records are selected, a blank customer record opens and you can create a new customer record. Find out more. |
Price Lists |
Use price lists to offer different prices to certain groups of customers. |
Activity |
View the transaction history on a customer account. This is the same information that appears on the customer record Activity tab. |
Aged Balances |
Manage outstanding customer debt by ageing transactions. Ageing is part of the credit control features offered in your software, which you can make use of when chasing debt. Find out more. |
Batch Invoice |
You can use batch invoicing to record sales for which no printed invoice is required. If you want to send invoices to customers, enter the invoice details in Tasks pane > New Invoice. |
Batch Credit |
You can use batch credits to record credits for which no printed invoice is required. If you want to send credit notes to customers, enter the credit details in Tasks pane > New Credit. You may also be interested in customer refunds when you want to record money you have paid out to your customers. |
Disputes |
Accounts Plus or Accounts Professional only:You can use Disputes to mark transactions as disputed until a query is resolved, useful when chasing debt. |
Credit Charges |
Apply credit charges to customer accounts when they don't pay on time. Tip: To apply credit charges you must first set up finance rates in Settings > Configuration Editor > Terms. |
Labels |
Generate labels detailing your customers' names and addresses. |
Letters |
Sage Accounts includes a range of standard letters. |
Statements |
Sending your customers statements on a regular basis is a good way of keeping them informed, and it can also gently remind them that their payments are due or overdue. |
Reports |
Access customer reports using the Report Browser. This is more than just printing reports, for example you can generate a report to send using email. |
